SUPERVISORY AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions for Equipment, Facilities, and Services Series, 1601. SPECIALIZED
Experience:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of leading, managing, and supervising a subordinate work force under unusual planning or coordination situations. Planning and organizing workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools under unusual planning or coordination situations. Managing human resources (e.g., budgeting, space management, safety, etc.); Knowledge of large-scale, fast-paced aircraft maintenance sortie generation organizations and knowledge of the functions and operations of other Wing/base activities (i.e., Civil Engineering, Personnel, Manpower, Logistics, Operations, etc.). The incumbent of this position is considered the expert in all matters concerning aircraft maintenance management. This expertise is relied upon by base senior leadership and higher headquarters in regarding fleet, equipment, and facility management and sortie generation; Knowledge of personnel management policies, practices, and procedures including the ability to adjust work operations to meet emergencies; the ability to change program or production requirements within available resources and with minimum sacrifice of quantity or quality of work; and the ability to establish program objectives or performance goals and assess progress toward their achievement; Knowledge of contract clauses, terminology, award fee requirements, and of contracting provisions sufficient to prevent illegal or unauthorized negotiations or commitment of government funds. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS:
Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in- grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):
Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of large-scale, fast-paced aircraft maintenance sortie generation organizations and knowledge of the functions and operations of other Wing/base activities (i.e., Civil Engineering, Personnel, Manpower, Logistics, Operations, etc.). Skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques to the identification, consideration, and resolution issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations. Ability to withstand considerable and continuing work pressure (e.g., managerial qualities such as exceptional adaptability, special skills in planning, and ability to act quickly) and effectively communicate to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy. Skill in dealing with difficult personalities and highly complex variables among supervisory levels ranging from unit-level to higher headquarters officials at MAJCOM level, among other U.S. Government agencies and civilian corporate representatives. Ability to lead, plan, manage, and supervise a subordinate work force under unusual planning or coordination situations; ability to manage Human resources (e.g., budgeting, space management, safety, etc.). Ability to manage overall direction and coordination of subordinate work activities and functions and implement sound personnel policies, practices, and procedures through subordinate supervisors. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
